Rochester City Ballet (RCB) has purchased the building that houses its studios located at 1326 University Ave., Rochester.
RCB moved into the building in March 2004 and has since renovated the former warehouse into a state-of-the-art dance facility. This purchase was made possible through funding from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, a statewide economic development program.
The sale of the building officially closed on July 18, 2012, for a total purchase price of $1.3 million. In addition to the grant, funding for the purchase was provided through a private mortgage. RCB’s administrative offices, studios, costume shop, storage and loading dock occupy 16,000 of the building’s 32,000 total square feet.
