Gates Chili High School, 1 Spartan Way, Rochester, will host a Summer Guitar Camp with instructor Erik Reinhart starting June 25.
This camp is for students who want guitar training, want to learn new skills, want to write songs and learn how to play some favorite ones.
This first week will include learning some songs from favorite artists, how to play blues, how to read music, tablature and how to write down original songs.
There are two different sections of guitar camp offered. Students entering fifth through eighth grade will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and students entering ninth through 12th grade will meet 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The camp will have a few guitars, but if you have one, or can borrow one, bring it.
CSE 6528-SU7/12 - 10 a.m. – noon; 6/25 through 6/29; 5th to 8th grade; $69
CSE 6529-SU7/12 - 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.; 6/25 through 6/29; 9th to 12th grade; $69
Classes will take place in the GCHS Chorus Room 718 (enter using door 44).
