The 2012 Lancer Marching Band will perform RED,a fairy tale journey based on the celebrated story of Little Red Riding Hood.
"I am very excited, as always, about Rainbow of Stars," said Lancer band director Jeff Hoffman. "This year, we have eight bands competing at our show including some new faces: New Hartford and Oswego."
"Competition in the Small School 1 division and National division should prove to be entertaining at this year's Rainbow of Stars," Hoffman added, "as each division has three bands vying for first place that night."
Small School 1 division will include East Irondequoit, New Hartford, and reigning state champion Medina.
The show will also have the 2012 Large School 2 State Champions, Lancaster, returning as well as local bands Greece, Webster, and Victor.
"I think the crowd is in for high caliber performances from some of the best bands in the state," Hoffman said.
