DePaul is in need of donors to contribute gifts for its annual Holiday Helpers campaign. Individuals who sign up to become Holiday Helpers “adopt” individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and live in one of DePaul’s residential programs, or who receive support or treatment services from DePaul.

The DePaul Holiday Helpers campaign strives to provide clients with gifts that meet their needs. Volunteers “adopt” an individual and purchase requested items from a wish list, or choose to donate generic gifts such as hats, gloves, scarves, personal care items or socks. Past wish lists have included items as simple as a piece of chocolate cake, batteries or scotch tape.

“Without the Holiday Helpers program many of our clients would have less to look forward to during the holiday season,” said Mark Fuller, President of DePaul. “This program makes a huge difference for our clients because they realize people truly care.”

Participation in the Holiday Helpers campaign is a great opportunity for organizations, places of worship, clubs, schools, sports teams and other groups to help children and adults in need during the holidays. Various levels of participation are available. For more information about DePaul’s Holiday Helpers campaign or to sign up, contact Maggie Fitzgibbon at 719-3102 or mfitzgibbon@depaul.org.
