In the midst of uncertainty for Kodak retirees and their insurance, Senator Joe Robach is introducing a bill to protect healthcare.
If Kodak eliminates health benefits for retirees, those who have not reached 65, will be left uninsured.
Senator Robach wants these retirees to be eligible for Healthy NY. That program was introduced as part of the Health Care Reform Act of 2000 to provide comprehensive health insurance to those who need it most.
It provides inpatient and outpatient hospital services, physician services, diagnostic and x-ray services and emergency care.
This legislation is pending in the Senate's Committee on Insurance. A companion bill has also been introduced in the Assembly.
