Chung was killed earlier this month while walking on the sidewalk on West Ridge Road in Greece. Investigators say a driver lost control and hit him.
He was seriously injured while on the job as a Gates Police Officer 10 years ago. He crashed his patrol car and suffered a brain injury which forced him to retire.
Chung started his career in 1987 with Rochester Police, and then moved to Gates Police Department in 1996. The Gates Police Chief says Officer Chung would always light up a room.
Chung leaves behind a wife and two sons, who are 12 and 14 years old. The driver of the car that hit Chung has not been ticketed. Greece Police say the crash is still under investigation and they are waiting for toxicology results which could take weeks.
