Christian Harris capped off another Rush-Henrietta Monroe County Division 1 come-from-behind victory as the senior scored the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning to beat Penfield, 6-5, on Wednesday afternoon at PHS.

Harris went 3-for-4 and scored two runs. He reached on a two-out error in the eighth, stole second, and scampered home on a single to left by Eric Nestler.

The Royal Comets (3-0 league) pushed across a run in the top of the seventh to send the game into extra innings.

John Burczak led off with a single off Penfield side-arm reliever Davio Caquias. He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by James Angora, took third on Ryan Hancy's single, and crossed the plate on a fielder's choice by Paul Lasher.

The Patriots (2-1 league) took a 2-0 lead in the second on a one-out single by Caquias. With two gone, Tom Campbell doubled to center for one run. Dylan Burrows followed with an RBI double to center.

RH got on the scoreboard in the third on an infield single by Burczak and a one-out double from Hancy.

The hosts got that run back in the bottom of the frame on a RBI single by Dylan Sheffer to score Tim Burke, who reached on a walk and stole second.

The Comets (3-2) pulled ahead in the fourth with three runs. Consecutive singles from Jake Abbott, Tommy Kirch, and Harris scored one run. A wild pitch and a groundout by Burczak accounted for the other two runs.

The Patriots (5-2) knotted the contest 4-4 in the home half. Charles Wan led off with a double. He eventually came home on a delayed steal.

Burke gave Penfield a 5-4 lead with a solo home run over the fence in right-center field.

Jake Kuchman started for the Comets and pitched seven innings, giving up seven hits, striking out two and walking four. Gunnar Johnson hurled the eighth.

David Nitsch started for the Patriots and pitched six innings, yielding seven hits, fanning four and walking none.
