Churchville —
Douglas D. Knowles, a Churchville-Chili junior, has met all the requirements to be a National Merit Scholarship finalist.
About 1.5 million juniors entered the competition by taking the preliminary scholastic aptitude test or PSAT. Semi-finalists are chosen based on that test, and go on to compete as a finalist, where they must have outstanding academic records, receive endorsements from their principals, and earn SAT scores confirming their PSAT performance.
Finalists are eligible for one of 8,400 scholarships to be announced in March.
