Geva Theatre Center, 75 Woodbury Blvd., Rochester, will host Magic and Madness, a birthday event celebrating a decade of Method Machine, from 8 to 10 p.m. March 4 and 6 to 10 p.m. March 5.
The weekend will start March 4 with various cabaret hosted by Mac and Lady M from ShakesBLOOD with music and performances from Bobby Maville, Judy Moelner and Doug Waterman, Bloody Noes and past Method Machine productions.
March 5 will feature a new workshop by Eugene O’Neill’s In the Zone. Set during World War I, an international boat full of merchant marines navigate the dangers in and out of the water.
Method Machine has presented productions such as Kenneth Lonergan’s “This is Our Youth,” Bertolt Brecht’s “Lux in Tenebris,” Patrick Marber’s “Closer,” Michael Steck’s “The Lipstick Massacre,” “Spoon River Rochester” and Tony Kushner’s “Angels in America” at venues around the Greater Rochester area and on national tour.
“We couldn’t be happier to have made this milestone,” said David Henderson, artistic director for Method Machine. “From solo shows to casts of hundreds, we have created and presented work beyond our wildest imaginations. The weekend in the Fielding Stage is time to celebrate our past success and look forward to our future.”
Tickets cost $10 for each night, $5 for students with an ID.
