Pancreatic cancer is considered one of the deadliest, least funded cancers. Its five-year survival rate is 7 percent. The Lustgarten Foundation was established in Bethpage and named after a Cablevision executive who died from pancreatic cancer. Cablevision underwrites administrative costs, so 100 percent of donations go toward research funding. The foundation has received over $100,000 in the past eight years from the luau fundraiser.
Tickets cost $45 and must be purchased by March 24. Wear Hawaiian attire.
