The Assisi Institute is about three years old, but it moved to its new home at 1400 North Winton Road just under a year ago, in July 2011. The inter-religious faith community aims to teach people how to integrate God's peace into their busy lives, said executive director Craig Bullock, of Brighton, during the institute's first Peace Walk in Irondequoit this past Saturday, June 2. The walk was designed as an opportunity for people and their organizations to come together for the purpose of promoting personal peace, peace among diverse groups of people, and peace within the community. There was not only a walk through the Laurelton area of Irondequoit, but also a lunch and peace service. During the service, the institute's Dove Award was presented to Sr. Donna Del Santo, SSJ.
