The Gates Recreation and Parks Department is offering a variety of tennis programs this summer, including 10 and under tennis and day tennis.
Ten and under tennis instruction is being offered for youth ages four to 10 years-old from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Lions Park Tennis Courts, July 30 to Aug 3. The fee is $10.
Ten and under tennis is structured for kids to learn tennis, rally and play quickly. Age-appropriate equipment (racquet, tennis balls and net) will be made available for participants use during the program.
Day tennis instruction is being offered for youth ages five years and over from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Lions Park Tennis Courts, Aug. 6 to 10. The fee is $85 per session.
These tennis instruction programs are set up to accommodate all levels of play. Participants will learn basic strokes, which will be used in drills and games. Instructors will be provided for both youth and adults to have lessons at the same time, but on different courts.
