The Scientist magazine has named the University of Rochester one of the best places in the world for scientists to work.
The University is rated 22nd in the magazine’s worldwide survey of “Best Places to Work” for scientists in the life sciences. In Rochester, this work is primarily done at the University of Rochester Medical Center, as well as in the departments of biology, and brain and cognitive sciences.
The results are based on questionnaires filled out by more than 1,000 full-time life scientists working in academic or non-commercial research institutions. The Rochester scientists gave high marks in the categories of job satisfaction, management and policies.
This marks the third straight year that the University of Rochester has appeared on the magazine’s lists of Best Places to Work.
